PUSHKAR - PULSATING OF RAJASTHAN |
( we do not provide a day by day itinerary as the tours may vary slightly but all
places mentioned will be visited) |
| |
|
For
anyone who has ever dreamt of walking into an Indian movie
set this is the tour for you as it has all the elements of
the magic that is India. At the heart of this tour is the
incredible Pushkar Camel Fair ,but add to this the glorious
forts and palaces, the spellbinding Taj Mahal together with
the sights and sounds that are quintessentially India and
you have an unforgettable tour before you. |
|
| |
We will fly in to Delhi and then drive directly to Agra, where you will visit the breathtakingly beautiful momument to love the Taj Mahal. |
|
|
| |
|
We will then drive onto the pink city of Jaipur. We will vist the Amber Fort entering on the back of an elephant
(optional) and here you will see the sumptious and lavish
lifestyle of former Maharajas. We also visit the City Palace
which depicts the lavishness of Mughal India and an insight
of times past. Next to the Palace is the Jantar Mantar with
its giant geometric shapes. We also visit the outlying villages
to see block printing, papermaking, pottery and dyeing, as
well as rugs and carpets galore. Jaipur has an overwhelming
abundance of colourful bazaars selling everything Indian under
the sun. Plenty of opportunity to shop until you drop! |
|
| |
We then move onto the holy town of Pushkar where at this time of year
the Thar desert comes alive with all the hustle and bustle
, cacophony and colours that is the Pushkar Camel Fair. An
experience you will never forget and will find hard to describe
on your return home. We stay in the Thar desert in luxurious
tented accommodation but unlike any tent you will have ever
stayed in as they also have en-suite and are the last word
in luxury being set in beautiful surroundings. |
|
|
| |
|
From here we will drive on to Jodhpur. The whole of the city is nestled under the magnificent Meherangarh Fort which is
still run by the Maharaja of Jodhpur and provides a unique
insight into Mughal India with its lavish stately rooms. There
is one of the most stunning views of the blue houses as you
gaze over the ramparts of the fort. There will also be plenty
of opportunity to see rugs and carpets in the making as well
as purchasing spices unlike any others you will have tasted.
We leave to travel back to Jaipur for an overnight stay before
travelling on to Delhi for the flight home. |
